FIFA executive committee member Mohamed bin Hammam says he is out to prove his innocence following corruption allegations.

Mohamed bin Hammam has said that he is determined to prove his innocence following corruption allegations.

The FIFA executive committee member and president of the Asian Football Confederation will appear before the FIFA ethics committee in Zurich on Friday.

The 62-year-old has been suspended since May 29 after allegations of bribery during his FIFA presidential election campaign.

In a statement on his website, he said: "My legal team and I have been working very hard to provide convincing grounds that fair play was highly respected and observed throughout my election campaign."

The Qatari claims that the charges are "politically motivated".

FIFA vice-president Jack Warner was charged along with bin Hammam, but will not face further questioning after resigning from all footballing activities.
