Newcastle United have reportedly had a bid for Marseille striker Loic Remy rejected.
The Magpies, who are believed to be in the hunt for a new striker, have emerged as potential suitors for the 25-year-old.
It is understood that the North East Premier League outfit have been knocked back after launching a £9m bid for the Frenchman but Marseille are thought to be holding out for an improved offer, according to Setanta Sports.
Tottenham Hotspur were also believed to be early contenders for Remy's signature.
