Chancel Mbemba agrees four-year deal with Porto?

Newcastle United reportedly agree a £8m deal with Porto for the transfer of Congo international Chancel Mbemba.

Newcastle United centre-back Chancel Mbemba has reportedly agreed to sign for Porto this summer.

The Congo international was not in Rafael Benitez's plans last season and was used as a backup to Florian Lejeuene, Jamaal Lascelles and Ciaran Clark.

According to The Mirror, Newcastle will sell the defender to the Portuguese club for £8m and Mbemba will sign a four-year deal.

The report adds that the 23-year-old is attracted to the prospect of playing Champions League football next season, while the Magpies are looking to lower their wage bill of around £95m.

Benitez's side finished 10th in the Premier League last season in their return to the English top flight.
