Graeme Souness: Alan Pardew headbutt "unacceptable"

Former Newcastle United manager Graeme Souness says that Alan Pardew's headbutt on David Meyler is "unacceptable".

Former Newcastle United manager Graeme Souness believes that Alan Pardew's headbutt on Hull City midfield David Meyler is "unacceptable".

The incident occurred during the Magpies' 4-1 win over the Tigers at the KC Stadium in the Premier League, when Meyler was trying to retrieve the ball from the sidelines and was involved in an altercation with Pardew.

Meyler was booked for his part in the incident, while Pardew was sent to the stands and will most likely face further punishment for the incident.

Souness told beIN Sports: "I think it will be taken out of his (Pardew's) hands now. It's a fantastic football club and that was unacceptable."

Pardew was warned over his conduct earlier this season after insulting Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
