Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that striker Loic Remy will play no part in this Saturday's Premier League clash against Stoke City.
The Frenchman, who is on loan from Queens Park Rangers, has missed the Magpies' last five fixtures due to a calf problem.
While there were hopes that Remy could return to the side for their match at the Britannia, a recent scan has revealed otherwise.
"Loic won't make this game, but he's training and we'd like to think he'll make the next game," Pardew said in Thursday's press conference. "To lose the spearhead of your team is difficult.
"We're just trying to give the best performance that we can and the biggest thing is to try and get a result."
Goalkeeper Tim Krul is in contention to return following a knee injury.
