Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has insisted that his recovery is on schedule for the start of a new Premier League season next month.
The Netherlands international missed the final month of last season after suffering a dislocated shoulder, with a knee problem also keeping him out of action for much of 2013.
Krul is adamant that he will be ready to feature in Newcastle's opening league game on August 19, which sees Alan Pardew's side face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
He said: "I will be fit for the first game of the season.
"I'll try to get a couple of friendly games to get myself fully up to speed and I'm right on schedule."
The 25-year-old has been linked with a summer switch to Arsenal in the past 48 hours, but is thought to remain committed to the Magpies at this stage.
