Newcastle United forward Islam Slimani has been handed a charge for violent conduct by the Football Association.
During the Magpies' defeat to West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, Slimani kicked Craig Dawson after the Baggies defender appeared to stand on his foot.
The incident was missed by the officials but the governing body has now ruled that Slimani should have been punished by referee David Coote.
Slimani can appeal the decision, but the Algerian international - on loan from Leicester City - faces the prospect of sitting out the remainder of the season.
The 29-year-old has only played 131 minutes of football since moving to the North-East outfit at the start of 2018.
