Yohan Cabaye fears ligament damage

Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye fears that he could have damaged his ligaments on international duty.

Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye fears that he may have sustained ligament damage to his left ankle while on international duty for France.

The 25-year-old was substituted during France's Euro 2012 qualifying win against Albania on Friday.

"It was a big pain, and I fear ligaments could have been damaged," he told L'Equipe.

"I will have tests, I don't know whether it is a sprain or a bad bruise but it was very painful and I couldn't carry on like that."

Cabaye moved to St. James's Park over the summer from Lille for an undisclosed fee.
