Former Everton boss Ronald Koeman is allegedly in talks about becoming the next manager of the Netherlands.

Koeman has not returned to management since being sacked by the Toffees in October, but according to VI Koeman is being lined up as a replacement to Dick Advocaat.

The source says that Koeman is being considered after the Netherlands failed to qualify for the World Cup finals in Russia this summer.

The 54-year-old was previously considered for the post, but moved to Southampton after the Dutch FA appointed Guus Hiddink.

Koeman spent two years as manager of the Saints, before moving to Goodison Park to take up the Everton job.
