Louis van Gaal has admitted that he would be interested in managing a Premier League club following the World Cup next summer.
The 61-year-old recently confirmed that he would be leaving his role as head coach of the Dutch national side in 2014 and has hinted that only an English side would stop him calling time on his career.
Van Gaal told reporters: "I took over as national coach with the ambition of going to a World Cup or a European Championship.
"That I have never done before and I'm doing everything to make sure I can achieve that. After that I will leave. I'm constantly having to borrow other coaches' players. That I don't enjoy."
Asked if he would be retiring after the World Cup in Brazil, the Dutchman replied: "Unless a nice Premier League side comes along... If that happens, I will have to discuss it with my wife."
Van Gaal has coached Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich during a glittering managerial career.
