Paris Saint-Germain secure Edinson Cavani signing

Paris Saint-Germain sign Edinson Cavani from Napoli for £54m.

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Edinson Cavani from Napoli for £54m.

The 26-year-old has been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City this summer following his exploits in Serie A in the past three seasons.

However, neither club was prepared to meet his buy-out clause of £54m, a figure which did not prove problematic for the French outfit, who have handed the forward the number nine shirt.

The Uruguayan arrived in France on Monday, before eventually signing a reported five-year deal at his new club on Tuesday.

Cavani, who joined Napoli from Palermo in 2010, departs the Italian outfit having scored 104 goals in 138 games.
