Michel Der Zakarian has admitted that his Nantes side were "dominated" by AS Monaco in Ligue 1 on Sunday night.

Les Canaris were beaten 1-0 at La Beaujoire at the weekend thanks to a deflected Mounir Obbadi goal in a match that was largely controlled by the principality club.

"They were simply too strong for us, it has to be said," Der Zakarian said in his press conference. "They dominated play, especially in the midfield.

"We struggled to create chances, had a hard time winning the ball back and when we did win it back, we wasted possession so much that we couldn't pose them any problems."

Nantes travel to Guingamp for the next Ligue 1 match on Saturday.
