Late Robert Braber goal seals win for Willem II

Robert Braber scores in stoppage time to give Willem II a 2-1 win over NAC Breda in the Eredivisie.

Robert Braber scored in stoppage time to secure a 2-1 win for Willem II in their Eredivisie match against NAC Breda this evening.

The home side made the brighter start to the match, with Samuel Armenteros testing Jelle ten Rouwelaar early on, but the Breda keeper ensured that they did not concede an early goal.

The goalkeeper was called into action again shortly after, tipping a cross behind for a corner before denying Braber's close-range header.

Ten Rouwelaar was beaten 13 minutes in though, as Ben Sahar made a quick break, catching the keeper off his line to fire into an open goal.

The visitors came close to getting back on level terms shortly after, as Kingsley Boateng delivered the ball for Adnane Tighadouini, but the striker could only head wide.

Breda continued to press and did find an equaliser shortly before the break, as Uros Matic stole possession in midfield before drilling the ball in from 20 yards out.

Jordens Peters tried to restore Willem's advantage at the start of the second half with a long-range strike, but the goalkeeper watched the defender's shot go well wide.

Sahar and Boateng continued to apply the pressure for the hosts, but Breda did enough to ensure that they did not fall behind again.

However, the home side snatched a late winner when Braber burst into the box and forced a low shot beyond the keeper to clinch all three points for Willem II.

The result moves Willem up to sixth in the table, while Breda drop to eighth.
