Ian Baraclough: 'I hope Scott McDonald stays at Motherwell'

Motherwell manager Ian Baraclough says that he hopes striker Scott McDonald will sign a new contract at Motherwell.

Motherwell manager Ian Baraclough has said that he is hoping striker Scott McDonald will stay at Fir Park next season.

The former Celtic striker scored five goals in 13 matches last season to help Motherwell avoid relegation from the Scottish Premiership.

"There have been ongoing conversations. Scott has had a family holiday as well," Baraclough told Sky Sports News.

"He enjoyed his time here. He knows what was achieved and it was important we all had a break and had our holidays. There are one or two things he is exploring and it's one of those things where you keep the conversation alive. We'll see where that goes."

McDonald made 26 appearances for Australia between 2006 and 2012.
