MK Dons "extremely disappointed" by crowd disturbance at Loftus Road

MK Dons condemn the behaviour of the supporters involved in a scuffle during Saturday's defeat to QPR, claiming that those involved will be issued with banning orders.

MK Dons have released a statement condemning the behaviour of those involved in a scuffle during the club's defeat to Queens Park Rangers.

Seven supporters were arrested after a fight appeared to break out among fellow fans in the away section at Loftus Road.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed on Sunday that an investigation was underway following the incident, which is thought to have left one person hospitalised with facial injuries.

MK Dons have now issued a response to the matter, expressing their 'extreme disappointment' at those involved in the fracas during Saturday's Championship match.

"MK Dons are working with the police, the Operations and Safety team at QPR and other eye-witnesses to identify the facts behind the incident that led to a small number of arrests in the away section at Loftus Road on Saturday. The club encourages all supporters to express their passion and support for their team in a safe, secure and enjoyable environment, and we are committed to preventing people from behaving in a manner likely to jeopardise the safety or enjoyment of others, or to discredit the Club or the community of Milton Keynes.

"Therefore, as a club, we are extremely disappointed by the actions of a small number of spectators in the away section of the ground on Saturday. It is totally out of character with our reputation of being a family-friendly football club - something that has been nurtured and developed over a number of years in conjunction with our Supporters Association (MKDSA) and the majority of our fans.

"Our Supporter Charter clearly states that any spectator convicted of a football-related offence, whether at stadiummk or another club's ground, will become subject to a ban in addition to any punishment they receive from the authorities. We will have no hesitation in banning those who may subsequently be convicted of violent behaviour arising from the incident on Saturday.

"At this stage, we are still in the process of establishing the full details of what occurred. When we have ascertained all the facts and the police have completed their investigations, we may be in a position to comment further."

Defeat to QPR leaves the Dons sitting one point above the Championship relegation zone.
