Millwall secure their Championship status with a 2-1 win over Leicester, denting the Foxes' play-off hopes in the process.

Millwall secured Championship survival for another season with a 2-1 win over Leicester City at the New Den this afternoon.

The Lions took the lead after 23 minutes when Harry Kane poked the ball home from close range to get his third goal in three games.

Kane then had a big part to play in Millwall's second, winning a penalty for his side which Andy Keogh duly converted.

The visitors got a goal back with less than 10 minutes to go through Daniel Drinkwater, but a comeback was not forthcoming as the hosts saw the game out to record a valuable 2-1 win.

The result leaves Millwall 17th in the Championship table, while Leicester's play-off hopes took another blow as they now sit in ninth place, six points behind sixth-placed Cardiff City.
