Middlesbrough have reportedly made a move to sign Huddersfield Town winger Rajiv van La Parra.
The Championship outfit had hoped to bring in Everton's Yannick Bolasie, but Aston Villa have stepped in to sign the Toffees player.
That left Tony Pulis needing to find an alternative, and according to The Sun, the North-East outfit are close to signing Van La Parra on a temporary basis.
The Dutchman made 33 appearances in the Premier League last season, but the 27-year-old is free to make the switch to the Riverside Stadium after losing his place in the team.
Middlesbrough have also moved to sign Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic on a loan deal.
