Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray believes that his side deserved to beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Ewood Park.

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has insisted that his side deserved to win after they beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Ewood Park on Friday night.

Lukas Jutkiewicz scored twice as Boro inflicted a first defeat of the season on the Championship leaders.

"I think we deserved the win," Mowbray told Sky Sports News. "We were always a threat.

"We showed character and good quality from the start."
