Marseille forward Andre Ayew has insisted that the club are still the biggest in France, despite their struggles in Ligue 1 so far this season.
Ayew said that the club has got an excellent youth academy and that the prospects beginning to break into the team will be able to restore Marseille to their former glories.
"Bringing in young potential, you know bright players like we have - Florian Thauvin, Giannelli Imbula, Mario Lemina, Benjamin Mendy - they are players who have a great future and I think they can help the club in the future become one of the best in France, again, because for me Marseille is still the best club in France when we talk about history, name etcetera," Ayew told Ligue1.com.
"We can look at other clubs like Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, they all needed a little time to let it blend together, and I think the path Marseille is taking is a good path because when you don't have the financial power to fight with the other big ones you need to find another way. This way is the best way for the club at the moment."
Marseille have not won in their last five league games.
