Joey Barton has thanked the Marseille fans for their "incredible" support following his debut for the club in the Europa League.
The midfielder, who is currently on a season-long loan from Queens Park Rangers, played 70 minutes of the French side's 2-2 draw at Fenerbahce.
"What a place to make your debut! Atmosphere was incredible. Thoroughly deserved point that. What a team spirit!!" he tweeted.
"On a personal note. Great to get 70 mins. Cramped up a bit but that's normal after so long without a game and only a couple of weeks training."
Despite Barton turning out for Marseille in Europe, he is still banned from domestic competition for another seven matches after being suspended by the Football Association for violent conduct on the final day of last season.
