Bayern Munich CEO Herbert Hainer says that he wants to keep Barcelona-linked Joshua Kimmich at Allianz Arena for the rest of his career.

Bayern Munich CEO Herbert Hainer has said that he wants Joshua Kimmich to spend the remainder of his career at Allianz Arena.

Kimmich's existing deal with the Munich giants is due to expire next summer, and there is ongoing speculation surrounding his future, with Barcelona thought to be determined to secure his signature.

Real Madrid have also been linked with the German, while it is understood that there is interest from the Premier League, with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool said to be keeping a close eye on his situation with the Bundesliga giants.

Kimmich is currently in discussions with club chiefs Christoph Freund and Max Eberl over the possibility of signing a new contract, and Hainer has said that he wants the 29-year-old to finish his career at Bayern.

"I would be delighted if he ended his career at FC Bayern. But not next year, but in many, many years after that," Hainer told Sky Deutschland.

Bayern CEO wants Kimmich to end career at Allianz Arena

"I believe that Joshua feels comfortable in Munich, everything else will be determined by the talks with Max Eberl and Christoph Freund.

"I congratulated Joshua immediately (on new role as Germany captain) and he replied within two minutes. That shows how much I appreciate him and what I think of him. He absolutely deserves it. He's someone who always leads the way, who always wants to give his best."

Kimmich has made 393 appearances for Bayern since arriving at the club from RB Leipzig in 2015, scoring 42 goals and registering 104 assists in the process.

The midfielder has won eight Bundesliga titles and the Champions League during his career in Munich, but there have been claims that he wants a fresh challenge at this stage of his career.

Will Kimmich make Barcelona move?

Bojan Krkic senior, who is the father of Barcelona football coordinator Bojan Krkic, has claimed that Kimmich "is really looking forward to coming to Barcelona".

"Joshua Kimmich is really looking forward to coming to Barcelona," he told SER Cataluyna.

"Great German and French footballers, when you ask where they want to play, in general they say Barcelona. Real Madrid are also an option, but in general the footballer wants to play for Barcelona for its history, for the club, for its greatness."

Kimmich has again been a key player for Bayern in the early stages of the season, making three appearances in all competitions, while he played the full 90 minutes in both of Germany's UEFA Nations League fixtures during the September international break against Hungary and Netherlands.
