Louis van Gaal 'ready to axe Marouane Fellaini'

Reports suggest that Louis van Gaal is ready to sell Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini because he is "not a United player".

Incoming Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is reportedly ready to sell midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

The 26-year-old, who made the move to Old Trafford last summer for a fee of £27m, endured a tough first campaign in Manchester.

Reports suggest that Van Gaal told associates that Fellaini would not fit under the new regime because he is "not a United player".

The Express claims that the Red Devils are looking to recoup the full sum they splashed out on the Belgian international just 12 months ago, but will settle for a cut-price fee of £15m if a buyer cannot be found.

Fellaini made 26 appearances for United last season in all competitions.
