Manchester United will attempt to sign as many as eight players over the next two summer transfer windows, according to a report.

Manchester United will reportedly look to sign as many as eight players over the next two summer transfer windows as they attempt to become a force once again.

The Red Devils have made their worst start to a top-flight campaign for 30 years, having only collected nine points from their eight matches at the start of the 2019-20 season.

According to The Times, though, the club are prepared to give head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the time to make his mark at Old Trafford, and the Norwegian will also be heavily backed in the transfer market.

The report claims that the 20-time English champions will look to sign four players in each of the next two summer transfer windows, while it is also alleged that at least one new signing could arrive in January.

The summer exits of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez have left United seriously short in the final third of the field, with Marcus Rashford struggling to carry the goalscoring burden.

Solskjaer's side are believed to have identified Red Bull Salzburg's Erling Haaland as a leading transfer target, while the likes of James Maddison, Ben Chilwell and Jadon Sancho continue to be linked with moves.
