Manchester United's new boss Louis van Gaal has reportedly been told to increase his bid for Netherlands right-back Daryl Janmaat if he is to land the player this summer.
According to the Daily Star, the Red Devils have offered £4m to Feyenoord for the 24-year-old's services, but the Rotterdam club are thought to want around £7m.
However, the Mancunians may face competition from Newcastle United for the defender, with the Magpies looking for a replacement for the rumoured-to-be Arsenal-bound Mathieu Debuchy.
Janmaat has featured for the Oranje in Brazil, including in their 5-1 win against Spain.
