Manchester United are reportedly lining up an £80m bid for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
United manager Jose Mourinho wants a new midfielder for next season, with Michael Carrick hanging up his boots and Marouane Fellaini expected to leave Old Trafford.
According to The Mirror, Mourinho has targeted Serbian midfielder Milinkovic-Savic as an ideal replacement at the heart of his squad.
The 22-year-old was allegedly the subject of a scouting mission by United officials on Thursday, but the midfielder remained on the bench in his side's Europa League defeat of Steaua Bucuresti.
The newspaper adds that Milinkovic-Savic is joined by Napoli's Jorginho and Nice's Jean Michael Seri on a shortlist of potential replacements at the club.
