Manchester United have reportedly emerged as frontrunners in the race to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Since joining the Serie A giants from Belgian club Genk in 2015, the 22-year-old has emerged as one of the most highly-rated young players in European football.
Milinkovic-Savic has become an established first-team player at Lazio and has scored 10 goals in 74 appearances in Italy's top flight.
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, United are in pole position to land the Serbia international, due to Jose Mourinho's link with agent Jorge Mendes.
The report claims that the well-known agent has a strong relationship with Lazio because of his help in their deal to sign Nani on loan from Valencia in the summer.
Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have also been linked with a move for Milinkovic-Savic, who is represented by former Chelsea forward Mateja Kezman.
