Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: 'Signing players in January very difficult'

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaks of how completing deals in the January transfer window will be difficult for Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken of how completing deals in the January transfer window will be difficult for Manchester United.

The club is expected to invest in its squad over January after a poor start to the season that has seen the Red Devils lose four of their 11 Premier League games so far this term.

It is thought that United will look to improve its midfield and attack following the departures of Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku over the past year.

Speaking ahead of United's meeting with Partizan in the Europa League, Solskjaer told the Evening Standard: "The priority now is to get players fit and get through to the next round.

"Transfers - we always look at the league table, look at players. There might be none, there might be one, might be two in January, but the summer window is the big one and you can't do many good deals in January."

Reports have claimed that United are set to agree a deal with Juventus for the transfer of Mario Mandzukic, who is not in the plans of Maurizio Sarri.

Meanwhile, there have been growing links with Ralf Rangnick, head of sport and development at RB Leipzig and a role at Old Trafford.
