La Liga side Sevilla have distanced themselves from a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes.
The current Europa League holders had been rumoured to be interested in offering the 33-year-old a return to Spain.
However, club president Jose Castro has now ruled out a move for the former Barcelona man.
"Valdes is not an option. We have no intention of finding goalkeeping cover," Castro is quoted as saying by Europapress.
"We have three or four players for that position and Sergio Rico is the one closest to keeping it for many years. If we have good keepers, we don't have to go looking elsewhere for them."
Valdes, who has 20 caps for Spain, has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, with reports suggesting he has even been banned from training with the Red Devils first team.
