Liverpool are believed to be in the running to sign PSV Eindhoven's Premier League target Memphis Depay.
The Dutchman, who has scored 17 goals in 24 games for the Eredivisie leaders this term, has been linked with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal handed the winger his international debut in 2013 and is being tipped to bring him to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
However, Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan told talkSPORT that Liverpool have regularly had Depay scouted this campaign and are ready to battle their North-West rivals for his signature in the summer.
The 21-year-old, who impressed in cameos at the 2014 World Cup, is thought to be valued at around £20m.
