Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard will reportedly leave the club on a free after learning that he does not feature in Louis van Gaal's plans.
The 31-year-old joined the club from Norwegian side Aalesunds FK in 2010, but has spent much of his time with the Premier League side as backup to David de Gea.
According to Danish media outlet Ekstra Bladet, Lindegaard has held talks with Van Gaal and is not part of the long-term plans at the club, resulting in him being told that he can leave on a free before the end of the transfer window, despite still having a year left on his contract at Old Trafford.
However, the publication also reports that Lindegaard is unlikely to return to Scandinavia, preferring a move to Spain or France.
