Report: Barcelona want Ander Herrera

A report claims that Barcelona want to sign Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera in the January transfer window.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in bringing Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera to Camp Nou in the January transfer window.

The Catalan outfit lost influential figure Xavi in the summer, while Rafinha's long-term injury has left Luis Enrique short of options in central midfield.

The Spanish giants are expected to be active in the January window when their transfer ban will come to an end, despite securing the signings of Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal in the summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Herrera, 26, has emerged as a leading target for Barcelona, who are confident of enticing the Spanish international back to his homeland.

Herrera moved to Old Trafford from Athletic Bilbao in 2014, but has struggled to hold down a regular spot in Louis van Gaal's team.
