Pepe Reina: 'David de Gea should stay with Manchester United'

Pepe Reina believes that David de Gea should remain with Manchester United in the Premier League despite interest from Real Madrid.

Pepe Reina believes that David de Gea should remain at Manchester United amid speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old has been in outstanding form for the Red Devils this season, which has prompted interest from Carlo Ancelotti's side, who are reportedly lining up a £50m swoop for the Spaniard.

However, Reina has urged his compatriot to stay with Louis van Gaal's men for the foreseeable future.

He told talkSPORT: "He is one of the top goalkeepers in Europe and this year he has been superb.

"Maybe Real Madrid are looking for a goalkeeper and De Gea is one of the names suggested, but I think he should be happy enough to play for United."

De Gea has yet to sign a new contract with United as his current deal expires at the end of the 2015-16 season.
