Real Madrid will reportedly rival Manchester United for the signature of RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano next summer.
United had been linked with a move for the centre-back during the ongoing transfer window, but Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann has since ruled out the possibility of him leaving this summer.
Nagelsmann did concede that Upamecano is likely to move on in 2021, though, with a £38m release clause in his recently-signed contract only becoming valid then.
United are understood to have shelved their plans to sign him accordingly, but AS reports that Madrid will also be in the running next summer.
Los Blancos are reportedly planning a major overhaul of their squad next year, with Kylian Mbappe and Eduardo Camavinga also on their radar.
Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are among the other clubs to have been credited with an interest in 21-year-old Upamecano, who drew plaudits for his role in helping Leipzig to the semi-finals of the Champions League last season.
