Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly hopeful that they will be able to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba on a free transfer ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
The France international's current deal at Old Trafford is due to expire next June, and at this moment in time, it appears unlikely that he will be penning a fresh contract with the 20-time English champions.
PSG have been strongly linked with the midfielder this summer, but the club are thought to have now dropped their interest to fully focus on signing Lionel Messi.
According to Le Parisien, despite Pogba's willingness to move to Paris, Man United have refused to enter into any discussions with Mauricio Pochettino's side over a possible summer move.
The report also claims that the Ligue 1 giants have not submitted an offer in the current market, but they are keeping a close eye on the situation and hope to sign the World Cup winner on a free transfer next year.
Pogba now appears almost certain to spend the 2021-22 campaign at Man United and is likely to feature in his side's Premier League opener at home to Leeds United on August 14.
