Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba reportedly moved close to joining Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.
After indicating that he wanted to take on a new challenge in June, Pogba was constantly linked with a switch to either Real Madrid or Juventus before ultimately staying at Old Trafford.
However, according to Calciomercato, the 26-year-old almost linked up with PSG in the days before the end of the transfer window.
The report claims that Neymar staying at Parc des Princes prevented the Ligue 1 champions from pushing through a deal for the World Cup winner.
The France international allegedly agreed terms of £429,000 per week, figures which were only possible if Neymar made the switch to either Barcelona or Real.
Despite effectively being tied to United until 2022, Pogba is again expected to be linked with a move away from the Premier League side in January.
