Manchester United legend Gary Neville has backed the club's decision to retain Adnan Januzaj at the club.
The Belgian winger enjoyed a breakthrough campaign under David Moyes last term, but has struggled to make the starting lineup as frequently under Louis van Gaal this term.
Januzaj has been a reported target for Everton this transfer window, while Paris Saint-Germain were also understood to be showing an interest, but Neville is glad that the 19-year-old is likely to stay at Old Trafford.
"He's played the last two games and I think now is the time to prove himself," Neville told Sky Sports News.
"I thought this season would be a really good one for him and I thought Louis van Gaal would [like him] as a player. He's a winger, technically gifted and showed glimpses last season of really fantastic performances.
"I certainly wouldn't have thought they would allow him to go this window. It's a good move [by United]."
Januzaj played 90 minutes in the 3-1 win against Leicester City on Saturday.
