Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is reportedly determined to stay at the club this summer and prove himself under new manager Erik ten Hag.

Rashford's future at Old Trafford has come under the spotlight in recent weeks after he fell down the pecking order last season.

The 24-year-old made just 18 starts across all competitions - including only 13 in the Premier League - as the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood, before the latter's suspension, were preferred to him up front.

Neither Ole Gunnar Solskjaer nor Ralf Rangnick regarded Rashford as a regular member of their starting XI, and reports have suggested that he could be sold this summer as the incoming Ten Hag looks to rebuild his squad.

Barcelona, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs to have been credited with an interest in the England international, but Goal claims that he is keen to stay at Man United and earn his place under the new manager.

The report claims that Rashford has enlisted the help of his own personal trainer during the summer in order to make sure that he is ready to hit the ground running when the squad return for pre-season training next month.

The forward is also understood to have asked current teammate Donny van de Beek and former teammate Daley Blind about Ten Hag's coaching techniques to help give him a head start.

Rashford is keen to nail down a regular starting role in his preferred position on the left side of the attack and is hopeful that Ten Hag's man-management style will suit him better than those of Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Solskjaer.

A return to the England fold is also on Rashford's agenda ahead of the World Cup in Qatar this winter, with Gareth Southgate having omitted him from recent squads due to a lack of first-team football.

The Manchester-born striker burst onto the scene with his former club in 2016, scoring four goals in his first two senior appearances during his breakthrough campaign.

Rashford remained an important part of the Man United team from that point on, making over 30 Premier League appearances - and over 40 in all competitions - in each of the next five seasons.

However, 2021-22 was the first full campaign in which Rashford fell below both of those tallies since he broke into the Manchester United senior set-up.

The United academy product missed the start of last season after undergoing shoulder surgery immediately following England's Euro 2020 final defeat at the hands of Italy.

Rashford has not featured for England since missing his penalty in the shootout at Wembley, remaining on 46 caps and 12 goals for his country to date.

The Three Lions currently have just two more matches scheduled before the beginning of their World Cup campaign, taking on Italy and Germany in the UEFA Nations League in September.
