Manchester United are reportedly in discussions over a loan deal for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
The Morocco international's future has been the subject of much speculation this summer, with a number of clubs believed to be keen to sign him before the end of the market.
However, it is understood that Man United have always been the 27-year-old's first choice, with Amrabat said to be 'waiting' for the 20-time English champions to make their move.
Amrabat is not currently being used by Fiorentina amid the speculation surrounding his future, while he is also training separately from the main group at the Italian club.
The rules surrounding Financial Fair Play are making it difficult for Man United to make another signing, but according to The Athletic, Erik ten Hag's side are now in talks with Fiorentina over a potential loan deal.

Journalist David Ornstein claims that Amrabat is the English club's main midfield target despite recent reports surrounding a possible move for Bayern Munich's Ryan Gravenberch.
Amrabat's contract with Fiorentina is due to expire next summer, but it can be extended by a further 12 months, which the Serie A outfit may look to do in order to potentially sell him next year.
At this stage, it is unclear whether there will be a future purchase option included, should Man United be successful in coming to an agreement over a loan deal.
Amrabat played a leading role in Fiorentina reaching the final of both the Europa Conference League and Coppa Italia last season, while he helped Morocco progress to the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup.

Man United have already boosted their midfield department this summer with the arrival of Mason Mount from Chelsea, but the England international is currently on the sidelines through injury.
Kobbie Mainoo has also been earmarked for a first-team role this season, but the teenager is yet to feature in 2023-24 due to an injury that he picked up during pre-season.
Fred has departed for Fenerbahce, but Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay remain at the club despite the speculation surrounding their futures over the last few weeks.
Ten Hag is believed to be determined to bring in a defensive midfielder to operate alongside Casemiro, as the Dutchman attempts to make his side harder to beat away from home.
Amrabat made the move to Fiorentina from Club Brugge in 2020, and he has represented the club on 107 occasions in all competitions, including 49 appearances during the 2022-23 campaign.
