AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori emerges as a transfer target for Manchester United, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori.

The Red Devils are currently well-stocked in the middle of the defence, with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane all options for head coach Erik ten Hag.

Varane is widely expected to leave next year, though, with the ex-France international finding it difficult to hold down a regular spot this season.

A number of Saudi Arabian clubs are said to be keeping a close eye on the 30-year-old's future, while there is also thought to be interest from Serie A.

Lindelof and Evans are both out of contract next summer, meanwhile, and it is expected that the latter will depart on a free transfer despite his involvement with the first team this season.

Maguire was heavily linked with a move away from Man United over the summer, but he stayed at Old Trafford and has managed to battle his way back into the side.

Martinez, meanwhile, is seen as a key player for Ten Hag's side, and the Argentina international is expected to return from a foot injury in the early stages of 2024.

According to MilanWeb, Man United are keeping a close eye on Tomori's situation at Milan amid suggestions that he could be available for transfer next summer.

The report claims that the Italian outfit want to bring in a new centre-forward in 2024, and a big-money departure for Tomori would boost their budget.

Milan allegedly have no desire to discuss a January transfer for Tomori, but the club would be prepared to listen to a big-money offer during next summer's transfer window.

The 25-year-old is familiar with the Premier League, having represented Chelsea between 2016 and 2021, featuring on 27 occasions for the club, including 17 outings in the Premier League.

Tomori had loan spells with Brighton & Hove Albion, Hull City and Derby County during his time at Stamford Bridge, and he then represented Milan on loan during the 2020-21 campaign before securing a permanent move to the club.

The England international has featured on 127 occasions for the San Siro giants, scoring five goals and registering one assist in the process.

This season, Tomori, who has a contact with Milan until June 2027, has represented Stefano Pioli's side on 20 occasions, scoring twice, with both of his goals coming in Serie A.
