Manchester United lead the race to sign Monaco centre-back Benoit Badiashile, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly at the head of the queue for Monaco centre-back Benoit Badiashile.

The 19-year-old, who has been linked with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid in recent weeks, made 20 appearances for his Ligue 1 club during the 2019-20 campaign.

Monaco have the defender on a contract until the end of the 2023-24 campaign, but it was recently suggested that they would be open to selling him for a figure in the region of €30m (£27m).

According to Le 10 Sport, United are in pole position to sign the teenager despite competition from Leverkusen, Madrid and a number of other European clubs during this summer's transfer window.

Badiashile has made 46 appearances in all competitions for his current club since debuting in November 2018.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are thought to be in the market for another centre-back due to the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.
