Manchester United have confirmed that they have signed experienced forward Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley for the rest of the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign.
A deal for the Netherlands international had been complicated by the fact that he was on loan at Besiktas from Burnley, with the forward expected to spend the rest of the season with the Turkish outfit.
However, he terminated his loan agreement with Besiktas in order to free himself up for a switch to Old Trafford.
The 30-year-old has moved to the 20-time English champions on loan for the rest of the season, but he will not be able to make his debut in Saturday's Manchester derby with Manchester City.
However, the Dutchman could feature in next week's contest with Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

"I feel privileged to be joining Manchester United. I've played against the club in the past and it's a fantastic feeling to now have the chance to pull on the famous red shirt," Weghorst told the club's official website.
"I've seen United's progress under Erik ten Hag this season and can't wait to start playing my part in pushing the team towards its aims.
"Whatever happens in the next few months, I can promise to give everything to the club for as long as I am here. I thank everyone who has played a part in getting me to this stage, and now I am looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and getting involved straight away.
Meanwhile, the club's football director John Murtough added:' 'Wout has a consistent goalscoring record across several European leagues, and his attributes will add a further dimension to our squad for the remainder of the season.

"We were also attracted by his strong personality and dedicated approach to football, which fits perfectly with the spirit that Erik is building within our squad.
"He has shown a huge desire to join Manchester United and be part of what we're striving to achieve this season."
Weghorst had been in strong form for Besiktas during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring nine goals and registering four assists in 18 appearances in all competitions.
The centre-forward moved to Burnley from Wolfsburg last January, scoring twice and registering three assists in 20 appearances for the Clarets in the Premier League.
However, he departed Turf Moor on loan following the team's relegation to the second tier of English football.
