Manchester United to launch £38m bid for Real Madrid's Mesut Ozil?

Manchester United are reportedly close to launching a £38m bid for Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil.

Manchester United are reportedly poised to launch a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil.

The Premier League champions have been linked with the Germany international in recent weeks, as they hunt for midfield options before the close of the transfer window in 10 days' time.

According to German newspaper Bild, Spanish television show Punto Pelota have claimed that Madrid are expecting a bid in the region of £38m for the midfielder.

Reports have claimed that Ozil is concerned he will lose playing time in the first team with the impending arrival of Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur.
