Inter Milan chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that the club have still yet to reach an agreement with Manchester United over extending Alexis Sanchez's loan spell.
Chile international Sanchez has spent 2019-20 at San Siro after struggling to make an impact in his first 18 months with United.
The 31-year-old has also underwhelmed this season for Inter, but the Nerazzurri are looking to prolong his contract until the end of the elongated Serie A campaign.
Marotta has been left frustrated by how talks with United have panned out, however, while discussions with Chelsea over fellow loanee Victor Moses are also ongoing.
"This is a great regulatory anomaly that needs to be resolved because we are still dealing with Chelsea and Manchester United today to try to extend their loans," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"It is not a beautiful thing. We are also dealing with Bayern Munich over Ivan Perisic."
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a shock swoop for Sanchez, who previously starred during a four-and-a-half-year spell with North London rivals Arsenal.
