Man United 'feel betrayed by Sergio Ramos as Real Madrid star to sign new deal'

Manchester United reportedly feel betrayed by Sergio Ramos after he opened talks with Real Madrid about a new contract, despite indicating that he wanted to leave.

Manchester United have reportedly been left fuming after Sergio Ramos opted to open talks with Real Madrid regarding a new contract, despite allegedly indicating that he wanted to move to Old Trafford.

Widespread reports claimed that the Spain international was unhappy at the Bernabeu and was seriously considering signing for the Premier League giants.

It is believed that despite having a £28m bid rejected, United were confident of landing the defender's signature as he reportedly led the club to believe that he wanted to leave Madrid.

However, it has now been claimed that Ramos is on the verge of signing a new contract, and according to the Daily Star, United officials feel betrayed and believe that the 29-year-old was playing a game all along.

United have signed five players so far this summer - Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
