Manchester United have reportedly approached Real Madrid about the availability of defender Raphael Varane.
The Red Devils have been linked to the Frenchman in the last few months, but it is believed that the Premier League outfit have now made their move.
According to Marca, during discussions with the Spanish giants regarding the potential sale of goalkeeper David de Gea, United officials revealed that they would pay a large sum for Varane.
However, it is believed that Madrid swiftly rejected the advances and insisted that the 22-year-old is not for sale.
Varane moved to the Bernabeu from Lens in 2011.
