Manchester United are making every effort to offload one of their unwanted first-team players before the transfer window slams shut at the end of this month, according to a report.

The Red Devils have been busy this transfer season, bringing in several new faces, including the likes of Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

There are also widespread rumours that Erik ten Hag's side are not done with their summer transfer business either, with Manuel Ugarte heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this month.

United are said to be negotiating a lower price with Paris Saint-Germain, who are asking for £51m to part ways with the Uraguyan midfielder.

Subsequently, it was reported this week that the Premier League giants are also tracking Burnley's Sander Berge as a potentially cheaper alternative if they are unable to get a deal over the line for Ugarte.

With the club having already spent in the region of £150m on new player acquisitions this summer, bringing in additional reinforcements will require them to raise funds, with a few player sales being the most likely solution.

One of the players that could be exiting Old Trafford is Jadon Sancho, who Football Insider report United are working hard to sell before the transfer deadline.

The report adds that the Red Devils have given the 24-year-old attacker permission to leave if a suitable offer for him is tabled, despite reintegrating him into the first-team during pre-season.

Sancho was banished from the squad after a public fallout with Ten Hag in September last year and spent the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at his former club Borussia Dortmund.

The England international was signed by United for a fee of around £73m from BVB at the start of the 2021-22 season and his current deal at Old Trafford runs until 2026 with the club holding the option to extend for a further year.

What next for Jadon Sancho?

Man United have reportedly set a £40m asking price for Sancho, who is also one of the club's highest earners, pocketing in the region of £350,000 a week.

Indeed, the 24-year-old's current weekly earnings are proving to be a stumbling block in finding him a new employer but The Athletic claim that some United chiefs are expecting Chelsea to make a bid for his services in the coming days.

Additionally, PSG have been linked with a move for the England international for several weeks, and given the Red Devils' interest in Ugarte, a swap deal could be on the cards before the transfer deadline.

Since arriving at Old Trafford in 2021, Sancho has made 83 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in that time.
