Arsenal are reportedly readying a bid for Blackburn and England youngster Harvey Higgins, who is also wanted by Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Arsenal have reportedly moved ahead in the race for Blackburn Rovers sensation Harvey Higgins.

The 16-year-old has impressed on the club and international scene so far this season, even competing for the Lancashire club at Under-21 level.

Higgins has found the net in matches just a step blow Valerien Ismael's first team, highlighting the striker's immense talent at such a tender age.

Arsenal have a number of key youngsters already at the club, including Ethan Nwaneri, who is edging towards the signing of a new five-year contract.

The Gunners are currently sitting in second spot in the Premier League standings after going into the international break following a narrow win over capital rivals Chelsea.

Arsenal looking to sign Blackburn wonderkid?

According to Football Insider, a major player at the top of the English game is attempting to secure the services of Blackburn star Higgins in the near future.

The report claims that Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are readying an approach for the 16-year-old, who has represented England at Under-16 level in recent times.

It is understood that a Gunners swoop for the attacker is 'imminent', as they look to bolster their academy ranks ahead of the upcoming campaign.

However, it is believed that the North Londoners are not alone in their interest of Higgins, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool circling around the talent.

With a host of top clubs taking notice of the player, it remains to be seen where the teenager will ply his trade when he eventually departs Blackburn.

Where should Higgins go?

As shown by the likes of Saka and most recently Nwaneri, there is a pathway for young English stars to play in the Premier League at Arsenal.

The prospect of being managed by Pep Guardiola could lure Higgins to Man City and the Etihad, although first-team opportunities could be hard to come by.

With one academy graduate set to leave Anfield in the form of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Higgins could look to become the next Merseyside hero at Liverpool.
