Cristiano Ronaldo could be brought back to Manchester United as part of a sensational swap deal with Paul Pogba, according to a report.
With Juventus being knocked off their perch in Serie A by Inter Milan and suffering a dampening Champions League exit to Porto last term, Ronaldo continues to be linked with an exit from the club.
The Old Lady have re-hired Massimiliano Allegri after giving Andrea Pirlo the boot, and despite working with the 53-year-old during his first season in Turin, Ronaldo is not thought to be untouchable by the Juve boss.
With Pogba's future also yet to be determined, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that an audacious swap deal could see the two players link up with their former teams this summer.
However, the report adds that Ronaldo would have to take a significant hit on his £500k-a-week wages to seal a return to Old Trafford, and United could also ask for a cash sum in order to let Pogba depart.
Allegri is thought to be eyeing a "dream" reunion with Pogba at Juventus, with the World Cup-winning Frenchman scoring 34 goals in 178 appearances for the club before re-signing for United in 2016.
