Manchester United have reportedly moved a step closer to bringing Bastian Schweinsteiger to the club.
The Bayern Munich midfielder has one year left on his contract with the German champions.
United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is working on a deal, according to The Mirror, within the region of £7.5m.
Woodward is hoping the opportunity to team up with Louis van Gaal once again will lure the 30-year-old to Old Trafford.
Van Gaal was manager at Bayern for three years, from 2009 to 2011.
