Manchester United will rival Aston Villa for England Under-16 captain and Fleetwood Town defender Josh Feeney, according to a report.
Feeney has recently been involved in an England Under-16 camp and captained the side to a 6-0 victory over Northern Ireland, securing a goal for himself as well.
During the recently-completed season, Feeney made the step up from the youth system to senior football when he trained with Fleetwood's first team, who finished 15th in League One.
According to the Daily Mail, Feeney is likely to cost Man United or Aston Villa a fee in the region of six figures, with Fleetwood already fielding bids for the youngster.
Villa are the leading candidates to sign Feeney, and the Claret and Blues' youth side is an attractive destination as they won the FA Youth Cup during the 2020-21 campaign.
With new Brexit rules meaning that overseas youngsters must be 18 or older to join English clubs, both Man United and Villa will put emphasis on signing young homegrown talent.
